This page explains what personal information Forty Below Digital collects, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated: November 2026.
Who we are
Forty Below Digital is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta. We handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
When you request a free audit, we collect what you put in the form: your name, business name, trade, city, phone number, email address, website URL and Google Business Profile URL, plus any cost estimate you choose to send with it. The cost survey runs in your browser, and we only see your answers if you send them. If you call, text or email us, we also keep what you send. Our hosting provider may keep basic technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
Why we collect it
We use your information to do your audit, send you the results, answer your questions and, if you become a client, deliver the work you asked for. We do not sell your personal information.
Your consent
The form asks for your consent before it can be sent. By checking the box, you agree that we can contact you about your request. We will not add you to marketing messages without the consent Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL) requires, and every commercial message we send will include a way to unsubscribe.
Who else handles it
We use a few service providers to run this site. Our form provider (Formspree) receives form submissions, Cloudflare hosts the site, and Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, which means your browser connects to Google when a page loads. Some of these providers may store or process information outside Canada.
Cookies and analytics
As built, this site does not set its own tracking cookies or run analytics. The free search check runs in your browser, and we do not receive what you enter. To fill in the city box, the site asks our host, Cloudflare, for the city it estimates from your IP address. We only pass that city name back to your browser, and we do not store it or your IP address. Its button opens Google Maps, which has its own privacy terms.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, or as the law requires. Audit requests that do not turn into work are deleted after 12 months.
How we protect it
We limit who can access personal information and use reasonable safeguards to protect it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the regulators as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent, subject to legal limits. To do that, contact our privacy officer: Adam, adam@fortybelowdigital.ca, 587-723-7981.
Complaints
Please talk to us first so we can try to fix it. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Alberta, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
